It's a good thing that I can remember what links to click on to sign in because everything is in Japanese. We have had an amazing trip so far. We started out on a little puddle jumper out of Elmira, but once we got to Detroit things started looking up. Even though we had a six hour layover, because we flew first class, we were able to hang out at Northwest's club area. They had great seating, free food, and drinks. We were also able to connect to wireless internet.
The plane ride was also wonderful. Gabby was amazed at the electric seats that were only one step down from a nice recliner. The food was very good and the service was excellent. The attendents waited on us hand and foot. The only downside was that the movies didn't work until the last four hours, but the time still went fast and we were all able to get a couple of hours of sleep. Northwest gave each of us vouchers worth 25,000 frequent flyer miles to make up for the lack of movies.
Gabby and John sat next to each other. Gabby of course wanted the window seat. Somehow our tickets were messed up and I would have had to sit on the upper deck alone, but we found someone to switch seats and I only had to sit across the aisle from John and Gabby. I was lucky that my neighbor was extremely friendly. He was a Harley enthusiast who owns five bikes. We ended up chatting for a couple of hours about our families, etc. It turns out that he has biked all over the US, Europe and Africa.
Right now we're hanging out in the Northwest lounge in Tokyo. They have free food here too, but it is all Japanese which didn't look good to Gabby, so John took her across the airport to get McDonalds while I blogged. We only have another hour here before we board our final flight to Guangzhou.
